Share a Drop 2026: An Evening of Music, Art and Clean Water

The sound of live music filled the room as friends gathered around tables, shared a BBQ meal and settled in for an evening of laughter, creativity and purpose.

On June 5, supporters came together in California for Share a Drop 2026, a fundraising event in support of clean water projects in Kenya and Uganda.

By the end of the evening, the community had raised $4,700 to help move these projects forward.

A Night Filled with Creativity

Music from Too Many Squirrels set the tone for the evening, while local artist Samee Gouon of Rainbow Rabbit Paints transformed a blank canvas into an original work of art before the guests’ eyes.

As colours and brushstrokes took shape, the artwork became part of the evening’s story. Samee generously donated the finished piece to be auctioned, giving guests another way to support clean water.

“It was meaningful to create something in a room filled with people who had come together for such an important purpose,” says Samee. “Art has a way of connecting people, and I was grateful to use mine to support access to clean water.”

Later, the microphone opened for karaoke. Guests stepped forward to sing favourite songs, cheer one another on and raise additional funds with every performance.

The room was filled with music, applause and the kind of joy that comes when people gather around something bigger than themselves.

Every Person Brought Something

Share a Drop was held at the Blue Goose Event Center in Loomis, California, but the purpose of the evening reached far beyond the room.

Some people gave through their tickets or donations. Others volunteered, performed, created art, invited friends or stepped up to the microphone. Each contribution became part of a shared effort to bring safe water closer to children and families in East Africa.

Joel Trumbo, Executive Director of One Drop Global reflects on the power of the event: “Share A Drop shows what can happen when people offer what they have. A song, a painting, a meal shared with friends or a generous gift can all become part of bringing clean water to a community.”

Why the Evening Mattered

For many families, access to clean water is still uncertain.

A reliable water source can help prevent illness, improve hygiene and give children a better chance to remain healthy and attend school. It can also reduce the time families spend searching for water and create more room for work, education and everyday life.

The $4,700 raised through Share a Drop 2026 will support One Drop Global’s work to develop new water projects in Kenya, Uganda and around the world.

It may have been one evening, but every ticket purchased, song sung and gift given helped move clean water one step closer.

Thank You for Sharing a Drop

We are deeply grateful to everyone who made the evening possible.

Thank you to the guests who joined us, the volunteers who gave their time, Too Many Squirrels for filling the room with music, and Samee Gouon for sharing her talent so generously.

Most of all, thank you for believing that every drop matters.

Together, you turned an evening of food, music and art into meaningful support for children, families and communities working toward a healthier future.
